I guess maybe it's self explanatory. How do you wash it? When do you wash it? What do you use to wash it? Detergents, water, etc. The filter fits so tight that I may not get it out without ruining it. I'm very disappointed with having to special order a filter for a brand new unit. Why would anyone design such an odd dimension filter! My family is very sensitive to air quality and a washable filter just will not work. I'm out $80. Have to make my own filters using expensive high dollar filters and then spend an hour cutting it down to fit. Disappointed to say the least.
I am sorry you are disappointed with the filter. Maybe you need to contact Goodman or Amana the maker of your unit. We just sell their filters they recommend for their products. Sorry it didn't work better for you.
As far as cleaning the filter, you check on it every couple of months, and if it looks dirty wash it, hose it off. You can use mild soapy water,let it dry and put it back in. Very easy to use.
